My current project

I've been busy building a rather esoteric board. It's a composite sandwich with 1.7 oz Kevlar sandwich fabric, 4 oz Zylon exterior lamination and 5.7 oz Carbon Fiber rail reinforement. A rough concept of how the board was constructed:

Both Kevlar and Zylon are ballistic fabric's and a SERIOUS PITA to work with

Zylon, when laminated, has physicals that are higher than IM7 the aerospace grade Carbon Fiber.

This graph gives a representation, I stole the picture from Soeller Composites.

The Zylon was miserable to work with. It doesn't cut or sand, I wound up having to burn it off in places!

I really liked this paint scheme. So I attempted to duplicate that.

After all the paint and unmasking, I was pleased with the way that it came out.

Thanks Dingle. I got crazed and decided to continue the graphic over to the deck, so I am at least 2 weeks away on that one. The weather is so nice here today, it must be 60'ish so I am itching to get back out on the water!.
