    Surf Expo Pics

We just got back from Orlando - how do you folks in the south live with that humidity!

I just wanted to post a few of the new boards that will be hitting the market in '09.

My son's new pro model, of course! But also, Shred Stixx has a skimmer and the Hazen pro. Inland Surfer showed off their replacement to the Green Loogey and a few new kids Endless Break and Grind Water.

James has a Pro Model!?!? Congrats!!!! Now I will have to pony up some money to finally get a TWP board! What's that small black/white Inland Surfer? Looks pretty cool with the pointy nose on it.

                Thanks guys!

Yeah Timy, James has his own signature/pro model with his own logo.

The folks at Inland told me the name of that new board, but I can't for the life of me rememeber the name of it! I'm sorry! It will be taking the place of the Green Loogey, so for '09, the Loogey disappears and this new board will be in the line up. They've done a number of things to that board that look really sweet. They've added some toe-in to the fins and they've done the rails really well also. I commented that the prototype had the best rails yet of all their boards.

Surfdad, do you know more specifics about James' board? Like length, weight, what the optimal rider weight is (j/k), etc.

                  Thanks

                    Hey da.bell,

I was talking with Mike briefly, and I "think" that they will be offering the JW Pro in two sizes. James rides a 4'5" board and I think the other size will be a 4'7". I don't know any of the othe other dimensions of the 4'7". The 4'5" is just a shade over 20" at max width and the max thickness is 1 7/8". I'm not sure how Mike will laminate the pro model's. James' boards are designed to weigh 5 pounds with traction and fins. I'm guessing that the production models will have more 'glass.

What's your take on that new HL Surfdad? Is it a "pop out" or something more like the LF Custom?

                          Hey Nick,

It's got a high density core, they have some crazy-a$$ name for it. My guess is that it's an 8 pound polyurethane. It's bagged, if not fully molded like you asked. My guess is that it isn't molded, that they have a rocker table set up in ASIA and they bag the rocker into the board, similar to what P5 does. The foam isn't Dcell 'tho...I'm sticking with the PolyU. It's an epoxy resin and not Polyester. There didn't seem to be any thinning at the tail or nose, my guess is that they just shaped the rails, or they are buying the cores premanufactured and then bag the 'glass.

Definately not the same construction as the Custom.

I guess the proof will be in the puddin' on that one. I'm definitely looking at that shape though. Is it thin?

You and your thin. Yeah, 5/8" as I remember it. It'll definately fit in a standard rack.
