What an amazing sport. These pictures are great, and the water, wake, & venue look amazing. I can't wait to see how this emerging sport evolves!

Thanks for posting. I was wondering how we could do something similar with our INT tour here, but was worried that the lakes would not be deep enough based on some of the previous threads. Sounds like if there's a will, there's a way. Now we just have to find enough venues to fit in all the disciplines. INT here in Texas is an all-day affair (starting at 7:30 am) with all the wakeboarders and slalom skiers. We did have a couple of venues where we had two side-by-side lakes and that might make it possible.

Let me know when you come to Texas next.

                  Hey Dog,

I don't want to mislead anyone, it's like you stated - if there is a will there is a way. Also, not all boats will work well in that shallow depth. We've used an Enzo with awful results, although a reverse rotation Enzo did quite well. The Epic doesn't work well either. My 23V does a pretty good job also.

This venue, Villa Lagos is that side-by-side configuration, so during the day it's slalom in one lake and wakeboarding in the other. The INT League events are pretty slammed with activity, so it's hard to get a wakesurfing event squeezed in there. In this recent event, they had the lake booked for the weekend, but wrapped everything up on Saturday, leaving the Sunday available for wakesurfing.

Honestly, the NWL is being incredibly supportive of wakesurfing. This years nationals, meaning '09, will include wakesurfing and all venue bids MUST include a site for wakesurfing. It's a HUGE score for us. The IWSA (International Watersports Association) voted to add wakesurfing to it's list of disciplines and that organization is a component of the International Olympic Organizing Committee. This as part of the efforts of the AWSA and USA Watreski.

I don't think that INT League has the room for wakesurfing at this time, but the NWL is actively promoting the sport and is cooperating with our efforts with the AWSA to increase participation.

I'd love to see more contests under the NWL in Texas.

                    Jeff,

Looks like Dennis is trying to stand tall enough that it looks like he is the first place winner....

Congrats on you and Judy making the podium.
