As I get older and fatter the time has come to surf more. That and I have a new boat partner that is interested in surfing, so I will have more opportunities to surf. I have a 04' 22V with 2 Fly High 250's and one Fly High 500 bags to use. We usually only have a couple of people in the boat, so I will have to get my weight from ballast.
When I put the 500 in the back drive locker on the port side and had about 500 lbs of folks on that same side, the wake had a good shape and height but was not long enough. I even put one of those guys in the front but it did not help. I think if I filled up a 250 or two in the bow it might help, just did not have time that day. I played around with speed at 11 - 12 and taps from 5 - 2 and the wake was always too short.
So my question is, what do you guys recomend, config wise, for my boat to have a nice, long, huge surf wake with only a few people in the boat? Can I do it with my sacs or do I need to buy more weight? I looked at the Enzo sack but the $519 price scared me away. I think I need more weight, just want to know where and how much. I do not have a ballast system, I fill my bags the old fashioned way with a hand held pump.
