1st Surfing related injury...

Was at the WWS Tige Owners Reunion this past weekend at Grayrocks Reservoir and received my first Surf related injury. I had DieselPwr (Steve) and his crew on board and went to drop a knee on the board while just having fun and crashed and the board dipped and then shot out of the water into the air so I put my arm up just to be on the safe side. I put the wrong arm up and the board hit me in the forehead just above my left eyebrow where that blood vessel runs. I had a little gash but a GIANT knot on my head, probably close to the size of a golf ball! No pain or anything, it just hit it in the perfect spot and swelled up instantly. I iced it down, took some advil and now most of the swelling is gone but it moved down into my eye and now I have a small shiner!

Same thing happened to my wife last year, except it hit the bridge of her nose. A nice double shiner from that. She was a trooper though, a bag of ice, and a few advile, and she was back out that eavening for another run at it.

Same thing to Amy minus the black eyes. The Thresher is so buoyant, that went it went under water it shot straight up in the air a couple feet and landed right on her bridge. Just a little cut, not much blood, more shock than anything else.
