timmy, no, i have to admit, there are straps on the board. Being able to catch air was almost immediate. The more I ride it, the more I enjoy it, even pumping the wave is effortless.
no joke, they are a nerf style strap, Dakine I believe, the same straps as a wind surf board is what I have been told. Ill see if I can find a picture.
Makes sense that it would be easier if you are strapped to the board. What's the thinking there, you will learn how to do it strapped in and then remove the straps and you'll be airing it out? I know what straps you are talking about....
those are the ones, I grew up without much concrete or the ocean around to skate or surf, we had plenty of snow, so a board strapped to my feet feels second nature. It is amazing how far you can get back on the wave and still pump back up.
