    Help with a 360

I can spin the 360 fairly easy, but cannot catch the wave again. I just sink and wave standing up as the boat moves on. Any tips?

That's the same issue I'm having, I have a video but it's too large to upload (18 mb).

You can end up with this result from two situations, one is that you over-rotate a bit. If you feel like you've gone past 360...like maybe to 400, try not pulling so hard with your hand, what you want to do is reduce the rotation. OR, standup Standing will stop the rotation dead.

The other situation is just that you are rotating too slow. Try this motion, as you reach in to drag your hand, look back at the heel of your trailing foot. You can practice on dry land and you'll get the feeling for it. Stand, stick your hand into the wake and look back and down at your heel, it will cause you to lighten the pressure on your front foot and then, your head rotation will bring the board around. Doing this SHOULD keep you in the pocket - be prepared, you should probably thing about pumping forward, not just leaning into it.

You guys will get it...practice the look back on dry land - all one motion, insert hand, look back and down.

      Keep me posted!

Thanks Surfdad! I think that I am over rotating. I almost did a 720 on one of my tries! I did try pumping on a few but ended up burying the nose. I think it comes down to practice, practice, practice. Also, I have been trying to spin at the front of the pocket and a little high on the wake, is that where I should be?

Awesome! It looks like he is starting about the middle of the pocket and low on the wake and secondly about 100 lbs lighter than me

What board and how fast are you going?

he weighs 150, using the new green loogey. If you are using the older rounded nose loogey, sell it, get a 2007.5 loogey, or green. He couldn't do it on the old, got the new and did it first time out, HUGE difference.

11.8 mph. It spins very fast, the trick was to to rotate just right and immediately get into pocket.

Rag's pocket is very long and that will certainly help folks learning the trick, less steep, longer pockets are a good step towards learning this. You'll note that RJ is using two hands and that is principally required by his turn OUT and away from the wake at the start. It's working for him, so it's tough to question success.

For others, turn up and into the wake, while simultaneously sticking your back hand into the wake and try looking down and back toward your rear heel. RJ's crouch is really good and for folks that are having some difficulty over-rotating standing upright after you go about 270, will stop the rotation.

                  Great job RJ!

                          Surfdad,

Thanks for the pointers, all 3 of our regular surfers are getting the rotation down now, but can't quite get it to ride out. We will try some more this coming weekend.

I have also been working my Ars off trying to get this. I am trying it on a phase 5 and a broadcast. I can turn better on the phase 5.
side note, where can you get new fins at. I think if I put a smaller fin on the broadcast it may help???
