Our weekend was overcast with some rain on Saturday - it was odd. Memorial day was sunny, but cold in comparision to prior weekends. I don't think that I can ride with one foot off the board for more than 1.7 seconds, so I'm pretty confident the answer is no.
Looks like you guys had a great time. I was in Tahoe for a wedding. It rained non stop from Friday night through Monday. I hope to get into the water this week for some after work hours surf time.
LovinP - Thank's 'bro! Makes me want to drive the 20 hours!
Dog - I checked the resale of the boat with the engine issue and literally it was like $8. With the engine repaired it, at least, has a resale value. So...my plan is to get it repaired, and start the process of shopping for a new boat, hopefully for the '09 season.
It's been a while since I made the drive and we are going to make it this August for my in-laws 50th wedding anniversary. Last time we did it in 12 hours. So I sure hope that you were off a little bit.
and here I thought I was being generous! It sure FEELS like 20 hours! Two years ago we drove to the AZ contest - close to Lake Pleasant and it took 15 hours. My lovely wife Judy had to PRY my fingers off the steering wheel.

Surfdad - what was the diagnosis on your boat. Was it an overheating issue, bent rod?? Maybe i missed it since the original post. If you ever make it to havasu give me a shout.
Thanks 'bro - you are on my list! I probably didn't followup on the engine. Yanked it out of the boat and two pistons/cylinders were stuck and there is a crack in the block. I'm not exactly sure how it could have siezed as it was idling fine when I shut it down, but with the bottom of the rods free and the heads off two pistons are jammed in there and there is evidence of metal transfer to the cylinder.
The manifolds are out being checked for cracks - magnaflux?
There was a section of a plastic garbage bag jammed into the raw water intake and the impellor was literally nonexistant. No exaggeration, we pulled the boat off the trailer and idled while Judy parked the truck and trailer. Idled out past the 5 zone and ran it maybe 2-3 minutes before I smelled the "hot" and shut it down. I know it was less than 10 minutes. No smoke, no sizzling water sounds, I checked the guage when I smelled the "hot" and threw the throttle in neutral...it was below the 220 max reading on my guage.
Yep - the Black Scorpion - I believe it is the 340 HP version from back in '03. It beeps and whistles like there is no tomorrow. But like I said the thermostat wasn't pegged yet...or at least that is what I remember it was below 220.
