Thanks Razz - I'm with you might be time to switch lakes for the season. Scott is an interesting fellow, I'm always interested in folks that have that sort of ambition and drive to be a world record holder.

da.bell sorry we missed you - I do understand family demands! We stayed pretty close to that one ramp and it was so rough it was hard to do much but sort of cruise. It seems Folsom is always rough on the weekends.

In the open part of the lake it is rough. Back in the forks it's a lot better but you also have to get there early and after 12 noon, you can call it quites on any type of water sport since everyone loves to powerturn on that lake. There are a few that do okay but those are far and inbetween.

Well we finally got the boat wet this weekend... air temp was HOT in the 90's, but the Willamette River was a cool 57 degrees. Feels a little weird putting a full wetsuit on when it is that hot outside, but did the job in the water. My feet were a little numb by the time I was done surfing.

Are you guys just not getting the rain fall you need in NorCal?

Nope, we are going to be in some huge trouble this summer. March and April were within the top driest months on record.

Y, this is going to be one of the worst seasons in 10 years. Hopefully we get a ton of rain this winter.

I am hoping we can get at least to 7/4 finding decent water on oroville. I think I can get to end of July, only going on weekdays. When its low, the coves are all NO SKI, and so there is NO shelter on the weekends when it is busy. Season will suck for the weekend warriors.

Yeah there's no doubt we're screwed this year. Hogan is about 10 lower than same time last year. We're going to be there May 30th for four days which should be ok. July 4th we're there for 7 days and that's going to be scetchy! We have a four day trip there in August we're going to cancel and move to Pedro. Like Rags said we'd better get rain next winter!

Lake oroville is still rising steady now, not much, but at least not going down. Now with all the heat, the snow is really melting. Wonder how long we can get of rise.

Water temp is prob VERY cold, but it never gets too low. Wind can pick up in the afternoon, and not too much shelter, but there are some really nice Sandy beaches.

Some people like to launch at the canyon dam, I usually launch just to the west of prattville. I don't remember the name, but there is a state camp ground off the prattville-butt resevoir road. If you head towards the lake on that road from the 89, it is on the left I believe, and the ramp there is still small, but has a nice dock and close to those beaches.

Correction, I believe that campground is USFS. Usually the PG&E facilities are not so good, so this being USFS I thought it was nicer. I think the name of this campground and ramp, is just Almanor. But its been since last summer, I know just where it is to drive, but don't see it on google maps, sorry I can't be more help.

y, its going to be cooler this weekend. I am going to be just south of Antelope lake, camping and ATV riding all weekend. Supposed to be like 65º.
