Took the boat out this weekend. Water was still too cold for me but the water was nice.

When do you normally get out there, sometime in April/May?....
I also have to deal with a family of women that don't want to go out if it is cold.
We will have to hook up this spring.
BTW, what board do you guys ride?
We've got the 2 shorter Broadcasts, and a Shred Stixx Thresher Shredder.

The Willy has got be still very cold... I have a full wetsuit, but I'm guessing it would require a drysuit right now.

This will be our second summer in Portland, so not sure how early is too early. I have rode as late as Thanksgiving Day(36* water, 28* air) and as early as March 10th in Colorado. Next time we have a suny weekend day over 60*, I'm going.

We have a IS Red & Yellow. I'd love to try your Thresher Shredder.

Actually I would love to try your IS's.
Well after seeing the latest forecast, I don't think a day over 60 is anytime soon. Do you have any idea what the water temp is right now?
BTW will be my 4th summer in OR, I am originally from Ohio.

i've been out twice so far this year. mostly wakeboarded 1st time out but the 2nd we broke out the surfboard. you guys are a lot more brave though its been 70+ the days we went out. water temp is still about 50-60. we've got some crazy weather down here lately. it was 92 two days ago.

I haven't been in the water, but I'm starting to get the bug. It was pretty nice all last week (upper 50's lower 60's). I even opened up the boat and cleaned off some of the winter mildew, refreshed the Dri-Air, and aired it out for about an hour.
This weekend I'll install the Fresh Air Exhaust, and maybe order a new Trick Boardz, and see what fittings I'll need for the Tsunami pump I have (long story, but I traded up to the Tsunami right at the end of the season).
So in other words, I'm surfing in my head.

              Hey Steve;
Let me know how you like the FAE. I'm so close to calling the good Doctor, and ordereing one myself.

Greg - FAE lives up to all it promises to deliver... You won't regret it if you do get one...

                  Greg,

I will be installing it, but I don't think I'll be able to give you an opinion for a month or so from now... it's just too damn cold...
Everything I've read about it though sounds promising. Last year we noticed quite a bit with exhaust fumes in the boat, so that is the main purpose.

                  Steve

Greg you'll love the FAE - so much quieter in the boat. I've had mine on for three years now without issues. Two recommendations from my experience. Read the instructions twice and identify all the parts as you're doing it. Larry may have addressed this since I installed mine...but the FAE tends to cause a small spray to push up through the gap between the transom and swim deck and some of the gaps between the borads on my teak swimdeck. A thin piece of plastic under the deck fixes that.

                      Keep us posted.

Thanks for the info Surfdad-E-O. I know that if I have any install questions, your just a phone call away. I have the fiberglass swim step, so the only possible spray spot would be at the transom. Larry said I should be recieving it in a couple of weeks. Maybe I'll do a step by step install to post.

You bet Greg...I think that folks would benefit from your step-by-step.

...anyway...eat your heart out folks! Nothing but butter for us yesterday. This is what our cove looked like when we motored in!

I would be hard pressed to say there is a better wake out there for wakesurfing. Our '03 23V. James - a little over 2 feet of air.

LOLOLOL! That was so funny, did you see all those fins? We've been testing all these fin combinations and that poor board has a bazillion fin boxes installed. Just for giggles we installed a fin in every box. It rode like crap...well let me qualify that. If you want to TURN the board, it rode like crap. It was too funny to TRY and get it to turn, literally it felt like you were on a giant waterborne gyroscope, you'd push it and it would just straighten back out.

I'll d/l those pictures so it's not a private joke.
