I am going to make a 3'11" board. I have been watching my board as I ride and I believe that I can trim 6 inches of my board. The outline in the first picture is how much I think I can cut back. I trimmed the outline and rocker this evening.

Hey Sam,
What a great compliment! Thanks so much. No...I won't ever produce any for retail. The margins in that business are so thin, it doesn't make any sense for me. I don't know how some of the smaller shops make it.
I like to post up the construction methods to disseminate info for the bigger more efficient manufacturers to consider. The divinycell build is a surftech knockoff and can be done by someone like Matt at Smedmen's, Billy at ASC, Mike at TWP, Dave at Vernor. Hopefully those custom builders will take on custom construction like that if ordered.
OR, quite frankly just about anyone in their garage can do it.
Thanks again for the encouragemnt!Buy my kid's board! http://www.flyboywakesurf.com

I've ridden teh Trick Boardz Surf Skate - which I think has to be the king of short it comes in 39 and 42 inch lengths. I think you need to have a very deep concave to go that small and it tends to make the board sticky for bigger guys. I think I am about as short as I can go at 47 inches on this style of board - maybe I can trim another 3 inches which would put it at 3'8". That would be the very shortest, I'm pretty sure.Buy my kid's board! http://www.flyboywakesurf.com

This is the build methodology that I want to use. It's from the Lost Placebo website. The Lost flexlite construction is what I want to replicate - it's the same construction that is used on Josh Sleigh's skate model.
They heat the d-cell and then mold it to shape. I don't have that luxury, but the new generation of h-80 will wrap around a 1/8" radius cold, whereas the old h-80 and other foams like corecell and rohacell will just snap at that extreme curvature.
The other composite builds have been identical, except that I have used d-cell vertically on the rails and not wrapped them with 1/8" sheet.
We'll see...wouldn't be the first time I've failed on a build.Attached FilesBuy my kid's board! http://www.flyboywakesurf.com
