    18.1 MPH surfing :)

I've been trying to test some design changes to give to Jerry to shape a final boatd for James. One of the issues we've had is drive...so I included as many drive related elements into a board as possible.

Got up to 18.1 mph on the board, but then the old Tige started to plane and we lost the wake.

18 mph is FAST to wakesurf.

That board is 4'6" long...about the size of a inland 4-skim, P5 prop, or Walzer Alpha.

Interesting, we were out the other day with a couple of guys from Austin Surf Company. We ended up loading up the boat pretty good, so much so, I had trouble getting it up to 11 Mph (our normal surf speed). It turned out that 9.5 was all we needed. The wake was enormous and didn't fall over. Just goes to show, we still have a lot to learn about wake shape and surfing.

18 mph!!! That is awesome! Look how long the wake is, was able to move around in the pocket or at 18 was he just trying to keep up?

        Dogbert,
That is a nice looking wake!

Thx, it was impressive given that in the first pic, yllw20 is about 6'. A good time was had by all until we ran out of daylight.

I'm still thinking hard about a bigger boat for my next Tige. I think I'm just going to have to ride behind 'em both (22Ve & 24Ve).

Unless, of course, I could get the RZ with the rounded swim platform...

            Hey Moki,

James could fade all the way back and then pump back to the front. Fading back was pretty easy Pumping back up, not so much.

Looks like the little bit of chop in the water was evident in the wake...bet that made it a bit harder as well. It's funny how it doesn't show up as much at slower speeds.

Who's keeping the records for these types of things Jeff?

18.1 is a stout mark. Gives me something to shoot for next season.
You'll get your chance, smart guy.

I'm sure for the right amount of money your dealer can find a local fab shop to make the swim platform any shape you want.

Those pictures are sick! I keep looking to see if you photoshopped the wakeboard handle out of the picture... Nice Job!

Hey Nick! Long time no hear, you keep popping in and then disappear for ages - we miss you man!

Lunchbox, I know it looks like someone should be going wake-to-wake.

A few more from that day.

on our 22i we weight it and have to drive about 16 mph to get a really good clean surf wake. works great though. its crazy because i'm able to get really far out from the transom and bring it back up just by getting a little more aggressive on the wake. i think right now i'm able to get back something like 3-5 board lengths on my 5'6". if i get out anytime soon i'll shoot a video get some pics or something.
