    22I WakeSurfing????

I have a 2005 22I with no ballast. Is there anyway I will be able to wake surf???? I do have a taps system! What do you good folks think????? I am about 6"1 210lb. When we take the boat out we usually have about 4-5 people in the boat total. If I can wake surf what size board should I buy? Thanks to all for any help!!! I am a newbie to my tige, what a difference from my old Bayliner.

I have a 22i and I talked to Nick Weinrecker (sp) at the WWA championships this past weekend and he said the 22i is a great boat for surfing. I do not remember what he said about weight though.
I'm on a boat man. I got my flippy floppies....

I have a 20I with no ballast. With 3 people in the boat, taps at 7, speed 9 to 9.5. Surf with no problem. I am 6'3" and 205lbs.

I have a 05 22i. We surf all the time, w/no ballast. I can surf with as little as 3 people in the boat. It definatly works better with more people. I've tried many ways to get the right combo (without ballast.. don't want to spend the $$ on it and don't want to scacrifice the storage space).

We try to get a 60/40 ratio of weight, 40 upfront in the bow and the 60 in the back on which ever side you surf on. Taps set at 7-8. The pocket is a bit short but absolutly surfable!

I was out this weekend and had my friend & his wife in the back starboard and my wife driving. I start off with the rope right off the platform and then throw the rope when I'm in the pocket.

i have an '01 22i and we surf behind it. works just fine w/o weight but billy from ascboards.com came out with me and we found out that roughly 400 in the back rear locker of whichever side you ride throws a lovely swell. he also showed me that its not all about weighting the back corner. the more you get the boat rocked over to one side the better it works too. just play around with it you can get a really nice wave.
