    World Wake Surfing Championship

Well, we have been practicing a lot. RJ can almost throw a 360, but I don't think he will be able to do it in comp.

Maddie (9) can now free ride comfortably and throw a few poses. We are heading to Merced at 5am tomorrow, looking forward to a good time, and hopefully get some last minute practice in.

I have 4 kids entered, maybe at least one can make a podium in a jr novice class or something.

    Wish us luck!

Next year is a totally different story for everyone. But, today the one's that are entered into this INT have a chance to shine. Make sure they put in a 110% and have fun with it. It's not their jobs but a hobie at this point.

We had a great time, will post some pics later. RJ got 3rd in Jr. Mens Amateur. The first placed kid was a Jr pro, incredible. He rocked.

Maddie and Whitney were the only Jr Women, and so got 1st and 2nd. Whitney did great, but maddie was a show stopper. She wore a baby blue helmet, that sometimes was the only thing you could see in that huge wake. Also, she was using the landlock 5'11", which cracked everyone up. She rode both ways without falling out, pulled off both of her grabs and 2 poses in both directions. She just nailed the poses practicing with me on the lake friday before the comp.

I also helped a friend teach his kid to surf, after he won a board at INT a month ago, and he entered him into the comp also, he is also only 9 yrs old. It was awesome to see 4 of my kids run and try so hard. They are just going to keep getting better and better.

It was also great to talk to the owners of all the board companies about their boards. I really liked the Inland Surfer people and the guy from cybershapes. RJ is ready for a better board, I think surfdad talked him into a Walker Bullet.

BTW, as far as companies go, and people, they were all great, EXCEPT calibrated wakesurfing. I will post more on that tomorrow, still a bit pissed off.

Sounds like you had a great time, can't wait to see the pic's.
Put your hand on a hot stove for a minute, and it seems like an hour. Sit with a pretty girl for an hour, and it seems like a minute. THAT'S relativity. Albert Einstein

                Hey Ragboy;
It was great to see you guys again, and GREAT to see the Garcia's walk away big in this event. Everybody seemed to have a good time watching, and meeting each other. It was a terrific group of people.

A huge thanks needs to go to Centurian, and Skylon for there huge sponserships, as well as folks like Jerry Price from Shred Stixx, and our own SurfDad, Jeff Walker, for their tireless efforts in getting the judging, and orginization of the event together.

Let face it, without guys like this, most of our competitions may not even happen. It was a great event. Thanks to everyone who had a hand in it.

P.S. anyone have any sticker remover ? (inside joke)

                    Hey Ragboy,

Congrats to the little rippers, they all did so well...a LITTLE tough for RJ to compete against 3 shuv's at that age.

I almost feel like I need to aplogize for Mike Armstrong and company. It's not like him to be so obnoxious. I have faith that he'll make amends, but his behavior and that of his team riders is attrocious, certainly not an association that folks will be comfortable with in the future.

Mike, if you are reading this, you simply must redeem yourself.

Thanks, I appreciate the note. Also appreciate your availablity. RJ really enjoyed speaking to you about the boards, and is now convinced he wants a bullet and not a thresher. I told him I would get him a new board if he made the podium.

As far as Calibrated, I hope they make it right also, and not just with me. There were a lot of people frustrated. For me, it was the second sticker that made me decide to post this and make it known to the community. I mean, Geez, talk about a potential customer. I have 6 kids, 4 already surfing, and 2 up and coming. I have lots of board purchasing potential!
