    Over $3,000 in wakesurf prizes!

That's right over 3 grand in prizes for a single day wakesurf contest.

We had that one INT League contest cancel, but that means all those prizes roll over to the final contest!

I want to thank dbot5 for the racks and tower lights - $1,500 retail value.

Also huge props and thanks to Cybershapes, Inland Surfer, Calibrated and the Walker Project for the $2,000 of boards that we'll be giving away. You folks rock!

Eric from Cire International sent up a ton of his fine product, Buywake.com is giving out $50 gift certificates. I also have swag from our very own Tige' boats (I swear they sent us 100 T-shirts!) and dbot5.

Thanks to everyone that has supported this contest! You have my gratitude.

You do NOT have to win a division to take home the goodies, but you do have to enter!

See you in Discovery Bay on August 5th! Oh and Greg? Old, bald bespectacled men ROCK!

You have wakesurf divisions in INT? We don't seem to here in TX. How does that work?

      Hey Dog,

Yep, we have wakesurfing in the NorCal INT League. I spoke with Rick Stocks and made a presentation to the administration of the INT League last year at their Nationals in Bakersfield. They were very positive and talked of bringing wakesurfing to a bunch of state coordinators, but...the money wasn't there.

The key with INT is to remember that they are a marketing based organization. If you can bring dollars in, they'll be interested, if not, they aren't.

I've been involved with the folks from NWL, also. We have successfully created a wakesurfing discipline with them and the first ever NWL Wakesurfing National Championship will be held in Dayton next month. That is proving to be a big event...it is being held in conjunction with the USA Wakeboard Nationals. I've heard estimates of over 5,000 in attendance and TV coverage. The exposure is incredible.

Any chance that you'd be interested in convincing the INT state coordinator to give wakesurfing a try?

Absolutely! We've got an INT event coming up at TSR along with the state championships. Right now it's waterskiing, wakeskating and wakeboarding. My son plans to compete in wakeboarding, so we got him to join.

PM me and let's trade e-mails.

                    It's quality, not quantity!

Seriously, he does have some cool kids. My wife and I often refer to ours as our little circus animals. Insurance sure does come in handy

They competed in the last WS event, 3 of them did. And now maddie is also surfing. So maybe 4 this time. We do have great odds, we have won 2 surfboards from INT.

I just got the schedule, saturday is WB comp, and Sunday is WS comp. This time the WS comp is not squeezed into sat evening like last. Dude, I am stoked. Man, now I have to get out there extra to give my kids time to surf and board. Sheesh, gotta go to bed early tonight, on the lake by 6am. We went yesterday and didn't even surf and wakeboarded for a solid 4 hours practicing. Stupid kids have too much energy. ;-)

We were at TSR last night. Ryan and one of his buddies competed in their Thursday Night Showdown. Then they went on the cable lake for 2 hours. I kinda like the format because they have to swim and walk back if they fall. Enough falls and you'll be worn out. Mom and dad had happy hour at their restaurant while watching

                              Surfdad, I have a question....

RJ and Whitney are starting to get pretty good ripping it up surfing, especially RJ. He is starting to try to get more speed to get some air off the wake. We have 4 boards.

Liquid Force Venture, which we learned on.
Inland Surfer 4' skim. (Won at INT)
Hyperlite Landlock (just for new big people)
Cybershapes board (won from INT, when you were there)

They don't like the inland surfer because it is too squirly, and doesn't let you SURF as much, just seems to want to spin.
                              Landlock is too huge.
Venture isn't squirly enough, good for beginners.
They love the cybershapes, now that he is really trying to get some speed out of it, it seems to not be cooperating as much. You mentioned the cybershapes had a lot of rocker, which slowed it down. Last INT, they raffled off a Inland Surfer yellow loogey, which seemed more of a surf board, like the cyber shapes buy looked faster. What do you think? What is a good board to come after the cybershapes for them, and allow them to advance for a while? Keeping in mind, they love to surf, skim style doesn't blow up our skirts too much.

                              Thanks for the help.
