    Hey folks,

We are in Minnesota for the Lake Washington contest, so my posts will be sketchy until we return to CA. The boat set up was funny. That board - SS noserider is 8'6" long and when you get on the nose, the board just RIPS - until you are on the front 2 feet then it slows down. So you need a bit of pocket in order to make the transition. The other thing is that of the wake is too steep, when you start tranistioning to the nose, there is a see-saw effect and the tail pops out of the water too soon.

What we found was that a smaller wake gave us a longer pocket AND a more mellow transition (not as steep) which kept the tail in the pocket. We can ride the board well up to 15mph, but it HURTS when you hit after a fall. So we are trying to keep the speed at 11.7 mph. It's like starting all over again, fiddling with weight and speed.

We'd love to get to Hogan for a gathering - is there enough interest in a NorCal location?

The further North the better for me (Shasta might be a good place)... I'm in Portland, OR area.

New Hogan Res. works for me. When were you thinking about?

I will always throw my plug in for Lake Oroville. Big, ramps are still under water, and farther north so more central for all of norcal. But shasta would also work for me.

I just looked at Lake Oroville, how does that compare to Shasta, does it get pretty crowded?
I also saw on their site that they have floating campsites, has anyone done this before?

The floating campsites are great, but booked like a year in advance. It is NOT as crowded as most other lakes, however has been more crowded this year. I think because of other lakes being so low, and unusable, more and more people are coming to oroville. Anyway, I am out on Lake Oroville, from the Lime Saddle marina at least 2x a week.
