    Wakesurf on Wakeboard Rack

    Hi all,
I just bought a new boat that has wakeboard racks. I also bought a wakesurf board that is small enough to fit in the forks but the rubber straps aren't long enough to pull around the board and hook in. I'm scared to stretch them that extra bit for frear of snapping them off. Does anyone know if you can buy longer straps?

Do you have the factory tower and racks.......if so, the racks, I think they still are, are made by WakeDesigns. Give them a shout and see if they have anything.

You may also look into getting a surf rack.

My liquidForce (not as wide or thick as most) fits snug in the racks so I dont usually use the strap but it will stretch around it.

Welcome to the site and post some pics when you get a chance

Go get a bungee cord and hook the bungee in the holes in the black rubber straps and wrap it around where the straps usually connect. That is what we do.

I'll try Wakedesigns first and then resort to the bungee idea if I can't get anything. Thanks for the replies!

DO NOT buy the wake designs racks. They're total crap. Seriously- do a search for wake designs on this forum. I personally went through THREE pairs- yes thats SIX racks that broke, all in the same places over two years. My dealer finally replaced them with monster racks (www.monstertower.com). These are made with aircraft quality aluminum, vs cheap pot metal thats chrome plated (which oxidizes!) to cover up the low quality metal thats used.

Oh- I forgot to mention, the clamps tore up my tower uprights so badly that I regularly cut my hands when I'm putting the tower up.

If he has a Tige tower with swivel racks, he already has bought them . But dont worry Ruune, I think he is going to check with WakeDesigns to see if the make a longer bungee for the factory racks.

hmm... I still think that he should get a monster surf rack.

FWIW, the newer tige racks are made from better quality aluminum. Just dont buy the trash that wake designs sells on the open market.

If I sound a bit pissed, two boards fell on my brother's head the last time I had a rack break. Those fingers are sharp when they break. Glad there were no kids in the boat.

I agree, go fo any other aftermarket racks, not WD's.

I feel your pain. Dont know if you have been fallowing this thread; http://www.tigeowners.com/forum/showthread.php?t=4656 , I am on my 3rd go 'round with the WD swivel racks and believe I have found a solution that will modify the 07's to work like the 06's and not break under load.
