    World Wakesurfing Championships

Did everyone see the date and venue change?

    From the email:

We are extremely excited to announce the 2007 World Wake Surfing Championships ® (WWSC), presented by Skylon and towed by Centurion Boats, will be returning to its roots for the event’s sixth anniversary! It all started with a single vision of uniting the growing community of landlocked wakesurfers for a competitive event in 2002, but on August 24th, 25th & 26th, 2007, wakesurfers will gather again on Lake Yosemite in Merced, California to show the world how far it has come over the past 5 years!

Is it invitation only, or do they have walkon novice classes? My kids would love to jump in. 3 of them anyway. They will be at the Norcal INT surf come in a few weeks.

I would suggest that folks pre-register. I have the form, if you need it you can send me an email at jwalker@jwcpa.com or send me a PM here and I'll get the entry form to folks.

In the last several years they cut entries off at 60, I think they intend to allow up to 100 pros and am's. I know that we'll cut off before the contest date though.

Ragboy, can't wait to see you all at the INT event and are you going to enter the Masters?

No, I would probably need a 6'10" board. ;-). I did by a 5'11", and have been teaching RJ how to drive. He turns 12 in August. Amy has learned well backing the truck up, but just doesn't feel comfortable towing. She will tow the kids wakeboarding while I am in the boat, but she gets spooked by boats. And when the bow is way up and listed, makes it worse. I think RJ will be able to do it and is legal at 12. Cuz my daughter and Amy both have licenses. He stays cool with the other boats, which is how I was when I was his age. I towed my dad at 12 through lake castaic and pyramid (SoCal) on the weekends. Not for the faint of heart.
