be very very careful doing this!! If your dry suit rips, you will suck in all that water and it will be VERY dificult to stay afloat. When I wear my drysuit I ALWAYS wear a PFD.

i surfed once WO/a pfd and it felt weird. I mean it's not a big deal, but at the same time I have no problem wearing one.

          SOLUTION:

If you ain't falling.. you ain't trying hard enough..

Those aren't USCG approved, but they are definitely more comfortable, tho.

i love my vapor, you can't tell anything on that one! I also love the nevin I have, but it just sucks cuz on hard crashes the zipper comes off, and you loose the vest.

The ripcurl one's I got seem great! I love the back support they give, just gotta try them out.

True but you don't have to ride w/ a USCG approved vest, you just have to have enough in the boat for everyone on board and IMO, USCG vests are way to restrictive.

That sucks that the zipper on the Nevin comes off and you lose the vest!

And this vest doesn't necessarily have a lot of back "support". Check the pic, it's got "U-Flex" which allows you to move more freely and not restrict your movement. One thing I was worried about w/ this vest was that it wasn't gonna float me AT ALL but it is surprisingly buoyant.. It floats me just fine!
