Allright guys, here are a few more pics of our surf wake on the 24ve. This is with all ballast full, about 2000lbs. and 9 people in the boat. Speed was at about 10.5 and taps about 4-5.

Very nice wake. Looks like it was done on the chocolate lake at wonkas. If those legs weren't so white, I might ask if that was an oompa loompa. ;-)

Lake of the Ozarks is pretty muddy right now. Truman lake upstream has had a lot of flooding with these heavy midwest rains so they have been discharging a ton of water in LOZ which obviosly makes the lake very muddy.

That wake does look clean...but I'm unclear...is that 2K of ballast AND 9 people? So...approximately 3,350 pounds in total?

thats a clean wake for how tall it is. ours washed out and turned into crapola as soon as i put a 750 lb sac in the back.

The secret to getting rid of the washout is to put more weight up front. It's almost like you want to have all your weight slightly aft, say 40/60 (front/back). It also makes the sweet spot longer.

                          Here is our setup:

750's in each rear locker, absolutely full,
300's in each side of the bow, they probably only fill to about 250 each.

So that's the 2K in water ballast.

We had the heavier guys sitting all along the port side, with a guy and 1 girl in the bow on the port side. Lighter girls and myself driving sitting on the starboard side.

That is the best we have ever had the surf wake, the pictures don't even do it justice, it was huge. I think the key is that if you have a big crew you need to fill all your ballast on both sides and then just move people to make the boat list and get a cleaner wake. When we have a smaller crew I only fill the starboard side ballast about half full. I wish I had a good picture of the starboard wake from that day, it was even bigger.

that makes sense. just like you'd normally weight it for wakeboarding but to one side rather than both. gotcha!

                              typerider,

Your 22i might respond different since it is 2' shorter.

We had a small crew last weekend to do some wakesurfing on our boat. We didn't have any ballasts other than people. 8 people on the starboard side of the boat, TAPS at 4.5 and we had a nice 2 foot wake that was very rideable. I was simply amazed. However, we did the same to the port side and only got whitewash. I know we will automatically get a better wake on the starboard side but I was happy to see it. Make me want to learn goofy footing.....
