Oh yeah, with the weight configured as I recommended, you run TAPS at 7.

Funny that you said move more weight to the front. When I move a 135# person up there the face opened up a little bit. Then she moved and I had to reconfigure it again.
I put my taps all the way up to 7-8.

Ragboy, when I did that the entire wake was white wash. I have a feeling that the bow wasn't weighted enough. I also like Dog's suggestion about adding weight to the mid section more... Well, I will have to continue to work on it.

I usually keep my TAPS around 3-4, it seems like if you go too much it starts to white wash the wake... just my

I normally start with Taps at 1, and increase speed until the wake looks pretty good, then fine tune it with TAPS.

I have never had to do that, I am thinking its because I have never had my weight all the way in the back. But more even. It seems like the wake is cleaner, if you have the boat weighted even, rather than most in back, and have to compensate with taps bringing the bow down. Just guessing, but I don't have a washed out wake, which you can see in the pics I have posted.

I went out again tonight, thinking about this, and playing with TAPS. I think the reason it washes out at 8 for you, is maybe you are not listing the boat over enough? The more you list it over, the more you can set the taps up, without it washing out. At least that is the way it seems for me.

Good point, I just realized you said 11.5. Since we have the same boats...

I have tried many speeds, and have settled on 10.2.

The slower speed created more white wash and shortened the hole. But, I need to reconfigure the bags and start there first and also slow down like both of you said. I'll get it one day and hopefully I can shread it......

Ya I usually go at 11.6 behind my 22Ve. When I go in the 10mph range the face is too soft and I cant pump off it hard enough. Now it's harder for beginners to keep up when the boat is going faster so we usually go about 10.2-10.4 when people are learning and that seems to be the best speed.
If you ain't falling.. you ain't trying hard enough..

Well, we are all beginners on the boat so we do need to slow down. It was really fun and made me remember when I was in Hawaii surfing. Ah, those days were fun.

Here is a starboard side surf pic from our 2006 24ve. We have 1500 in the rear starboard locker, about 400 in the rear port locker, 300 under the seats in the bow on the starboard side, and about 6 people all on the starboard side. This speed was about 10.5, taps at 3. It was this guys first time surfing.

I don't think so, based on what he said he did for weight, I think he is just listed way over and waited HARD on one side. The more you list, the more it cleans up the wake. If he was just started I don't think that kid would be right in the pocket like that, especially if first time.
