Okay, I have to ask. What the heck is that guy doing hanging onto the outside of the boat???? That whole thing looks similar to "redneck ballasts" without the mullets.....
The guy hanging from the tower is actually sitting in a sling. When building a wakesurf wake you are trying to get the boat to list as much as possible. Hanging a dude off the tower will definitely get some more list going. Not the safest thing in the world, but pretty effective.
Now that is just too funny.... I knew about the list and the need to list but just didn't know why he was doing that because you can't see the surfer in the picture.
So what's the story on the Berkeley deal? I've always wanted to ride that spot. How deep is it there?
There are two Berkeley spots.
One is on the Estuary (sp?) in the city of Berkeley, and the other is in the Delta. I don't know much about the Berkeley (city) spot. I think that it's salt water.
The delta spot is about 6-8' deep through the course area, but the surrounding waterways range from 14'-30'. great for surfing.
Thanks da.bell. It's amazing how such an innocent, and simple thing can get so blown out of proportion. I'm done with the whole thing.
as far as Wednesdays meeting goes, It seems that the County reps already have there minds made up on the whole Indian Slough thing. They were'nt happy to be there. they had information, and stats that were not correct, but did'nt want to hear the truth. The next step is to have EVERYONE attend, and protest at the next next meeting in Martinez on June 6th.
Doesn't sound good. Isn't that an afternoon meeting also? 1-2 PM???? Might be better to start to pass our fliers this weekend if someone can get them done quick enough....

Here's the judgment:
I just sat from 9:30 to 1:00 listening to about 45 people say their peace the whole "No Pull Zone" In short, heres what has been decided:
1) The area covered will extend from Orwood Resort, down Indian Slough, and end at the entrance to the Disco Bay Marina.
2) The ordinance will ONLY be in effect ON WEEKENDS and Holidays between April, and September.
This comprimise allows us locals, and midweek Skiers/Boarders to continue our mid week adventures.
Speaking of contests, for those who couldn't get to the Tulloch contest, the folks at MOBgroup.tv have posted a quick video comprised mostly of the men's runs - BUT check out probably the most handsome and talented wakesurfer out there on the first trick.
Wow that is an awesome video! The first rider on there, whoever it was, was definitely the most talented!! And that kid that through the surface 1080 was okay too! Thanks for the link surfdad!
If you ain't falling.. you ain't trying hard enough..
