    NorCal INT League event

Who's on third?! The first ever longboard division behind the boat and pulled by a Tige. I wanted to post a picture of the master division podium, I'll come back to post some additional pictures of the event this week. This lake is man made and averages 6-7 feet. It had some pretty substantial weed growth (6 feet high and so thick you couldn't walk through it), so I was thrilled we did as well as we did.

    First: Mike Armstrong
    Second: Jerry Price
    Third: Me!

Nice job Jeff.... What was the cutoff age for Masters 35+ or 40+?

I was there, for my first INT event for my family. We were the "Garcia" family, we had 6 kids entered. 5 were my kids, and 1 was a cousin. 3 of my kids also surfed, they are still novices. My daughter won a "Best Effort" in surfing, and also won a Cybershapes board to boot!

It was a great weekend, and looking forward to more.

Was the Tigé used, YOUR Tigé? It definitely has a monster wake, and I have some great pictures and video of it.

Ragboy, was that you filming?! Yep, that's my 23V. The wake was impressive when you consider that man made lake is an average of 8 feet deep. We can certainly develop a larger and longer one in deep water.

It looks like the second contest will be up at Villa Lagos rather than at Modesto Res. as planned, apparently the Reservoir is only about 3 feet deep where we were supposed to be. If we wind up at Villa Lagos, please come by and introduce yourself.

Yes, that was me filming. And you had 3 of my kids in the boat surfing.

The bad news: I got home, and it looks like my compact flash card is hosed. I am going to try to recover it tonight. I am a software developer, programming guru, huge geek, so chances are good, I have done it before.

The good news: my sony hdr-sr1 camcorder takes good stills, and I shoot stills WHILE I video tape, and so I have like 35 images and most of the surfing. It just so happened, no one had the canon out, so I took more still of your boat then anything else. From my vantage point, you can't see the size of the wake well at all, but you can see how much weight you must have in there. Can you tell us how you have the boat setup in these pictures?

I am attaching 5, for large res, and more pics, go to photos page at:

Here is a video of one of my daughters surfing behind surfdad's 23v. It was hard to tape, because the only good shots are of the surfer on my side of the lake.

BTW, @ Surfdad: What is that antenna like thing on your tower? I saw it out there, and was wondering what it was.

                  I'm guessing it's a power flag.

Surfdad. I had no idea you had such a pretty boat.
You'll get your chance, smart guy.

Right as usual Nick, that is an original powerflag. They have a wireless unit now, the one on my boat is wired. If you haven't seen one it's pretty cool, press a button and the flaf deploys, press it again and it retracts. We wakesurf so much with the bimini up that it is hard to see the skiier down flag that the observer puts up - mounting the powerflag on the tower gets rid of the visibility issue.

We had a TON of weight in the boat On the starboard side, I run about 750 pounds in the rear locker and then we had...1,600 pounds of "people". Marlin and Dennis combined tipped the scales at 600 pounds I would NOT set up this way any other time, but the shallow depth makes it hard to generate a great wake, so we push the rear corner down as much as possible.

The port side had about 1000 pounds. I didn't fill the sac all the way. We attempt to keep the port and starboard sides within 80% of each other in terms of size, length and shape. I think that we achieved it, but the port side on my boat will always be better.

                    Thanks for the compliment guys!

Wow, I think I'll frame that and hang it up in the garage.
