Eat your heart out Nick :)

I purchased the Calibrated Lovett Pro from Mike Armstrong today. James rode Jaime's actualy board at Tulloch and landed a 1080 as he was going out the gate.

    I do love the graphics.

That is a SICK looking board!! What are the dimensions of that bad boy? And is it just me or does the logo under the "Calibrated" in the first pic make you think of the Al Merrick, or Channel Islands Surfboards, logo? (see attached) That's what I thought when I first saw it... Any connection?

Also lets see some pics/videos of James riding! I'd love to see/learn from his mad skills!

Hopefully I'll get some pictures of James riding this weekend. The folks from the Walker Project are filming James over the weekend for a promotional DVD - it'll no doubt be like Inland Surfer's first DVD. If we get some free time, I'll try and get some pic's of everyone on this board.

Aren't the graphics sick? I know that Nick liked the artwork, but not the price tag on this board. The two video's do look similar don't that? There isn't any connection that I am aware of. Mike Armstrong is the principal owner of Calibrated and I'm sure that he'd love to have some of the cash from CIS .

It's a little hard to tell, but on the deck picture you can see the length of the board is 53". It's 20 inches wide and 5/8" thick...pretty standard for skimstyle boards.

This board is pretty light. Calibrated says it's 4.5 pounds -not on my scale but it's close at 5.5 and with fins and traction it's 6.5.

Now, we just have to see how it rides

We need an "eat your heart out" smiley.

That board was definitely on my short list, but it's a spendy little bastard. I'd be full of if I said I wasn't just a little bit jealous. Fortunately I've a got a new board to occupy my interest.

Can't wait to see the the new vid. What board is James spending the majority of his time on these days?
You'll get your chance, smart guy.

I hear you Nick, it lists for something line $420 - oh man...is that a reference to the evil weed here in California? That's ridiculous for a skimboard. Anyway, I got a blem AND a substantial discount. It has a discoloration on the lefthand rail and then a weird indentation on the bottom. I also have the first dollar I ever made Realistically, I can't imagine that this board will ride that much better than a Phase 5, but we'll see.

The vid will be a LONG commercial for the Walker Project, but I do love the way the edit that stuff. We have been out on some photo shoots and when you see all those huge airs or exceptionally difficult tricks, what you don't see is the face plant afterwards Hopefully they'll get quite a bit of footage.

James is riding that Composite X 4.5 mostly...part of it is the airbrushing - nothing like ghosted skulls, flames and barbed wire to express your inner turmoil as a teenager He is routinely landing 720's now and is close to being consistent with 3 shuv's. He really prefers it to the Walzer...again, I'm not sure just exactly how much of that is ride quality and how much is the artwork.
