Message to Surfdad:
I am in the market for a new board and after reading just about every post that you have on here, and a few on wake world, I have decided to go against the "Big 3" and get a real board. I have the Hyperlie Broadcast 5'6" and it was a great board to learn on, and is still great for my parents, but I need a board that is going to allow me to progress. I think I have narrowed it down to Walzer and Walker Project. These are both "custom" board manufacturers, right? I was just wondering what you would recommend for me. I am going to be taking delivery of my '07 22Vé soon so I want a new board!
Here are some specs:
Boat:
'07 22Vé w/ factory 900lb ballast
Me:
20 years old (I figure age matters too)
a shade over 6' tall
approx 170 lbs
Goofy surf/skim style
Goals for the summer w/ new board:
-Big air
-Lip slides
-Surface 3
-180 Air
-Shuvit
Oh and I wakeboard, surf, and skate (longboard) so I have pretty good board control. I would consider myself "Intermediate" in that I can throw surface 3's (w/ the rope on my Broadcast) and surf (no rope) w/ pretty much any board behind my old '95 Tige 2002fslm Tournament Ski Boat w/ a 1200lb Sofa in the back. Also have you heard anything about the new Liquid Force Custom yet? I remember you saying you thought it was a big step for the Big 3.
Thanks for any help/suggestions you can provide!
Greg
