I was thinking about the event at the Villa, but that is in 2 weeks... we haven't even had the boat in the water yet, let alone get back our surf legs. I will talk to the little lady and see if she is interested. Will there be oppurtunity to hook up with a boat down there during "off competition" time or would I need to lug my boat along (it would be about 8 hours to get there).
The way it is looking now, we are going to use our Tige for the Port side wake. We had plans to stay up there and hit Shasta, but we have to look after the neighbors animals that weekend, so I am guessing we will not stay. That weekend is also the traditional start of boating season and will be exceptionally crowded on most lakes.
If you can make it down to us, you are always welcome to a pull - but we are just south of the River from your friends in Galt.
Well we finally made it out today... air temp about 65, water temp a frigid 57. We were testing our new ballast bags, and the wake was looking so nice for my wife's goofy foot side that she had to try it. I think the ballast will really clean it up nice, once we have it dialed in.... she is pumped for the season... Can't wait for our new Shred Stixx to arrive, a little UPS trouble didn't allow us to try it today.
I dropped the pitch on my prop to give the old Tige better "out of the hole" performance and it impared the face of the darkside wake. It's interesting to me to look at a comparable Tige wake.
I think that I am going to have a custom sac from fly high made up, literally we do darkside and port surfing every outting. Now if I can just figure out a system where I can pump from one sac to the other sac! Do we have any ballast plumbing specialists? Shoot me a schematic, please!
Had my Dark Side rollin' pretty good yesterday. Camera battery was dead. I have yet to look at any of the 10 or so pics but I doubt there is anything worth posting as most of those we're shots of another first timer.
Sagman- Wake is lookin' good man. Smiles are worth a thousand words.
That's actually what I ended up doing, I have 2 V-drive sacs, one in each side, and after I filled 1, I just pumped from 1 to the other... I think next winter project is to hardline the sacs.... kinda pain in the butt to go back and forth.
Greg,
We ended up buying the Shred Stixx Thresher Shredder, it should arrive today or tomorrow. The first one was damaged in shipping. I'll give a review after we have some time to ride it. Also, the local MB, Moomba deeler is having a demo day on Sunday, and they will have the LF Custom there... I may have to go just to try it.
I want to have a system that will allow me to select where the source of my fill will come from, lake, port sac or starboard sac. I also want to be able to select where to direct the empty - port or starbord sac OR back into the lake. I'd love for it to be "smart", so that if I am filling the port side and the starboard side has ballast that draws from that sac first.
Hey Jeff;
Things are looking better for next week end in Villa Lagos. I may be able to make it up for Saturday (only). Is the Surfing event on Sat. or Sun.?
YES! I do hope you can make it. The surf contest is Saturday only. It starts at 4, but we'd like to have folks registered by 3. You might check with Jerry, he's judging and dragging a crew up.
I'm talking with Sean Ward who does a great deal of FILMING and he wants to get some footage of folks going off the kickers on wakesurfers That would be killer to watch, but that is Sunday morning.

Honest to goodness! The Kicker at Villa Lagos is massive, so I don't know. I don't control it, because I'd have a separate contest strictly for best trick off the kicker on a wakesurfer - it wouldn't surprize me that those folks do inverts.
Nick? They're using Walzer's the construction on those things is bombproof, what better way to demonstrate that than by launching someone 8 feet in the air
You know...that might make a great contest division huh? Shoot...now I have to have another surf vs skim vs lonboard vs MISSILE rule discussion
