so we went down to mead this weekend and it was windy and the water was terrable. so i was pissed cuz i couldnt get a good run in on my wakeboard. so i threw in the surfer and there was a kid with us who surfed, so he helped me out. i got it to were i can keep slack in the rope and be were i want to on the wave..

it was way fun, but man it worked my back leg. i had to quit cuz my leg was so tired. im stoked becouse now ive got somthing to do in bad water

Good job...surfing is so much fun esp when you are tired of wakeboarding
It will work your back leg if you keep it bent the whole time...you just have learn to stand up all the way
    Everything happens for a reason

How big were the waves last weekend? Did you have a wetsuit?

friday night when we frst got on the lake we had a little break in the wind and the water was decent enough to ride(but still not good). but after that is was white caps for the rest of the weekend. saturday we couldnt couldnt even get a good pull. the second time i tryed to baord on saturday the wind kicked up so bad that water from the boat was hitting me so hard it hurt and i couldnt see let alone ride . when we were driving back to the marina we fought the biggest lake chop ive ever seen. alot of the bigger ones were 4-6 feet tall not even joking.. we took one just about 2 inches over the bow and it got wet fast. but the new boat is so solid and did great in the swells.

i didnt wear a suit when i was boarding, but i did wear a wet suit jacket when i surfed cuz it was blowing so bad

laketime, the wind in Sacramento was so back that we were getting swells of 1.5 to 2 feet. I can understand what you went thru and I will never go out on my boat when the winds are 25 mph. It was crazy to say the least.

Glad to hear that you learned how to surf. I want to try my board out this summer but haven't had the chance yet. Congrats on the learning experience and I am sure you are ready for more..

yeah i really liked it. all i ever want to do if the water is even close to good is wakeboard, and im not in to skating at all, but i can see myself liking this cuz it opens up somthing else in ruffer water

That is good to know. Last Sunday when the lake was choppy and terrible, we didn't bring the wakesurf but will start to do that.

good to hear you had a good time.

Be careful with the rough water. Our boats are pretty sturdy, but Mead has been known to be more than brutal. Here is some pics of some 24V's that succumbed to the waves.

I pulled the plug on surfing in rough water because my transom took some hard hits from the board while trying to navigate the swells.

well im not surfing in the gnarlley big swells. just in stuff that makes wakeboarding not fun.

but yeah mead can be way gnarlly. 2 years ago we were down there in our 21i and our bow droped about mid way through a 5 footer. i was sitting in front and so much came over that it pushed me up on to the windshield and there was about a foot of water near the back of the boat.

the waves we were in this weekend were bigger and the 24 did great. we never actually took one over the bow. just one that sent alot of water over

Okay, we had 2 foot swells and my Taps was at 8 because it was broke. Already took it into the dealer for waranty work.

But, I am glad that you were able to enjoy the time that you had on the lake and accomplish something that you weren't able to do before.

Laketime you need to take your camera. We want pics.
