    Congrats to Surfdad

Join me in saying Congrats to Surfdad.
This past weekend he took the first place hardware home with him in the Masters division. The event was held at the "Spring Break at the Lake" at Lake Tulloch. I have to hand it to him. It was raining, the wind was blowing, cold weather, and rough wouldn't discribe the water conditions.
Many of us "Surf Style" riders had a more difficult time. I myself fell out of the wake twice, due to unfortunate conditions. Surfdad however had a great ride, including a successful 360.

This was my first compitition that I have entered, and would encourage everyone to get involved. I didn't place, but I had a GREAT time, met alot of people, and partied my A$$ off.

So once again; GOOD JOB JEFF !!! ( I mean Surfdad)

Greg, it was a pleasure to finally meet up with you! Thank you all for the congratulations. I thought it was interesting, there were no less than 3 Tige's at the event! The AWSA was asked to sanction the contest and provide judges, last minute Judy and I took over the operation of the docks and getting riders on the boats. So I have very few pictures of the riding, but I do have a number of the podium and some of the folks involved.

I'll post them in a bit.

Greg, Kim took fourth in the Masters! I'm not sure if he knows yet.

The men's open skim division probably had the most amazing action. Jaime Lovett threw multiple 3 shuv's. Ryan Fair did a board transfer and James "my son" Walker Threw a 1080.

                    First through fourth place:

1 Jaime Lovett (professional skimboarder and surfer)
                    2 Ryan Fair
                    3 James Walker
                    4 Tommy Czeschin (professional snowboarder)

This contest was the first major contest to offer a division between skim style and surf style. I think that we will probably need some further refinement of the rules, but as a first effort I think we are getting close to proper representation of the two significant segments.

Huge airs, surface 3's and 7's were the order of the day. A number of pro surfers were present and competing.

Winners of the men's open surf divsion:

                      1 Jaime Lovett
                      2 Johnny Steig
                      3 James Walker
                      4 Chase Hazen

You'll note that we did allow folks to enter both the skim and surf divisions.

The women's division prooved to be developing nicely this year. In the past we've not had substantial participation, this year we had 9 ladies. The winner, Bri Chmel has only been riding a year. Jennifer Sellers did a board transfer and Bri did multiple surface 3's.

                        First through fourth

                        1 Bri Chmel
                        2 Jacqualine Croce
                        3 Jennifer Sellers
                        4 Kit Stocks

I don't have pictures, but as the Master's division winner, I won goodies from Dbot5 - 2 wakesurf racks, a lightbar and power flag. I can't even imagine how much that prize alone was worth.

1080's and 3 shuv's?!?!?! I remember years back when it was good to just be able to go without the rope! Man is this sport getting big or what?!

Oh and what is a board transfer?
