I loose a fin, everytime I go out surfing. I have to buy 4 or 5 fins every time I go to my Tige dealer. The screw threads, inside the plastic fin, keep stripping, and I don't know what's causing this. Is any one else ripping through fins? Does CWB make fins that have metal threading instead of the plastic? Any solutions?

Wow, I haven't heard of anyone having that problem since I had that problem. My issue was on a wakeboard though. I had (well, still have) one of the first gen LF Trips and I was constantly breaking the outside fins. Once again, the problem was the fin itself. The material it was made from could not handle the side loads of landing a little off angle and it would just shatter around the screw. Solution? I bought a the first board around with molded in fins, the LF Helix. It's still my primary. Shows you how much I wakeboard.
I would look at geting some metal fins. I'm not sure if CWB even makes any metal fins, but if they do, don't be scared to put some on. I have a HL Landlock and I put A-Wings on it. The A-Wings are a long based aluminium wakeboard fin. The bolt pattern on the Landlock is identical to their wakeboard fin hole pattern so they bolted right up. I was looking for a performance advantage though, which I got. Maybe you'll get lucky as well. You'll get your chance, smart guy.

Nickypoo, I think you pin pointed my problem. I didn't start having this issue until I started doing 360's. I weigh 200lbs and I bet when I snap the board sideways, it's stressing the fins too much. Does anyone manufacture a trick board that has molded fins? I'm done buying fins. I've tried everything, even putting lock-tight in the threads.Temporarily not a TO, but not gone forever... I can't imagine that you're putting too much torsional stress on a 1.68" depth fin by doing a surface 3. My guess is that the screw length is too short or there is an imperfection on the bottom of the board that doesn't allow the fins to tighten up OR the board is being stored funny and the fins are broken in route to the lake.
There are a number of boards on the market that use Futures, FCS and O'Fish'L fins that allow for pretty strong lateral stresses. You might consider one of those.Buy my kid's board! http://www.flyboywakesurf.com

I'm going to start looking for a new board. We're pretty careful with our surfboard, it's rarely stored away. I didn't have this problem till I started doing 3's. So maybe you're right, the board could have an imperfection. I'll check the board out. Thanks Surfdad.Temporarily not a TO, but not gone forever... RID22 (Formerly K***k'n Futs!)

Found this thread while searching info on a new board. Dont know if you found a solution but I had the same problem with my LF and I found the bolts to be to short, only about 3/16" of threads into the fin.
Replaced bolts that gave me about 7/16" of threads into the fin and added a dab of silicon sealer to insure the bolt will not loosen up.
Other than that do you like the Tsunami? Its one I'm looking at.Mikes Liquid Audio: Knowledge Experience Customer Service you can trust-KICKER WetSounds ACME props FlyHigh Custom Ballast Clarion LiquidLumens LEDs Roswell Wave Deflector And More

On my CWB Ride, the screws that were shipped with it didn't even go all the way through the board so I am not surprised that the ones they gave you are too short. Luckily I decided to put the fins on the night before we took the board out for the first time and was able to run to the hardware store and by some longer 1/4 20 screws to fit them.
