    10'2" longboard POCKET

Wow Surfdad, that is a HUGE pocket. I'd call it a briefcase by the size of it...

How the heck do you get a pocket that huge? I have a 2000 21i and thought I did okay to get a couple up/downs in before I hit the platform. The size of that one looks like ~20ft!

Anyways, still trying out configs from stock with human ballast and added a 650lb fatsack under the rear seat.

Our boat is so low already with ballast it makes it even lower and more prone to getting water over the sides and nose too.

    Cheers, Jeff

We actually didn't weight the Tige as much as normal. The longboard was so LARGE that it requires almost no wake to surf, plus it can handle speeds in excess of 14 mph. I had HOPED to hang ten on the board and so wanted to allow myself enough pocket such that when we ran to the front of the board, we could scamper back and not not hit the transom.

The key to the length of this pocket was speed. We ran just a touch under 13mph and our informal measurements showed it to be about 35-40 feet on the starboard side and 30-35 feet on the port side.
