Just bought a new surfboard

My son loved it so much that he insisted on going today at our local lake in the rain:

Moki that is addiction, it was cold up here today. To bad your trip was cut short. There was alot of rain down south this last weekend. We were at Zions National Park. We returned home a day early as well.

OWN, it's true, he's addicted. We drove through Zions on Saturday and stayed overnight at St George. The park was beautiful this time of year. Here's one of the pics I took. Great place to be this time of year with the leaves changing color.

If your interested we could get something together for the Friday after Thanksgiving. Do you have a dry suit? I'm always interested in a wake surfing session. You wouldn't have to bring your boat, you could jump on mine.

I would love to do that. I don't have a dry suit, only a shortie wetsuit, but I am still game! However, I am also not opposed to picking one up before then. I will PM you when we get closer to Thanksgiving!

Ah the Butter Churn...not a bad board, not manufactured anymore and whatever you do do NOT break a fin. They were proprietary and you can't replace them, PERIOD. They look similar to REDX fins and boxes, and you can get a REDX to fit, but it's sloppy.

You should be able to surf that wake, at least your son should, he's light enough, but you're going way to fast in the pic - slow down below 10...my guess is around 9 to 9.5 and you can surf the TIGE with a 5'6" if the rider is no more than 135-140 pounds...they'll be scary close to the swimdeck though

You've got a good eye for boards and speed! I was only going 32. I did slow down to around 11 - 13. I will try 9 next time. Thanks for the tip on the fins. I will be careful not to break one. Hopefully, we can get good enough to graduate something a little more progressive.

I'm hoping to post some pictures of the new Walzer board we tested down in San Diego the other day - would be a nice board when you and the boy progess. Check for a new thread.

Yeah...11 is too fast, you'll see the pocket form down around 9.5...it'll be seriously short, but surfable.
