    10'2" Longboard

My buddy Dennis grabbed a new Infinity longboard for our surfing safari next week, so I hounded him until he brought it out on the boat. Several folks said it couldn't be done, as this picture documents, it's a reasonable assumption.

What do you think, is the pocket long enough?

You ought to be able to hang ten off a board like that

You'd think so. They shape what is referred to as a nose rider that is designed specifically for that. With this board, the problem was that as you moved forward, the tail came out of the water and it started sliding sideways. It was fun to try, but as soon as the tail got loose, your ride was done.

The design of a nose rider actually causes the tail to suck down into the face of the wake, there is also a fin called a Turbofin that has a small circle in the fin such that when the nose of the board goes down this circle acts like a 'bu wedge and pulls the tail back down. I'm going to look for a nose rider so that we can try some nose riding.

if you refer back to the first picture with Dennis holding the board, you can see that the Infinity logo is at about the 7 foot mark.

You can see James in this photo, he's straddling the logo so has one foot at about the 8 foot mark and one somewhere around the 6.5 mark. It's a little hard to see, but if you trace the outline of the board back towards the tail you can see that it is already out of the water.

Maybe you should try tandem wakesurfing, with one in the back to hold the tail in the water and the other in the front walking the nose and hanging ten. That would be a cool picture.

Interesting, I wonder how many people you could get on that board at once?

I'm sure you could get at least two people on the board at the same time...it's about 4.5 inches thick at it's thick point...sheesh, you could probably park a Buick on it and it would still float!

I am bound and determined to hang ten on a board behind the boat...I'm not sure HOW I'll achieve that, but hopefully it won't require someone else's presenece to achieve.

That board is about as big as my first boat!

LOL I know, I was giving Dennis grief telling him he didn't have proper navigation lighting, or posting of the registration on his vessel.

A little more ballast and you could probably surf behind it
