    Dangerous Situation

I was out on Lake Austin last Sunday and I saw a guy with a couple of kids wakesurfing behind an I/O. What was worse was that the I/O didn't have much of a swim platform behind it.

Idiots will be idiots, I really hate to see kids involved though.

It is through actions like these that jepordize the sport of wake surfing. Hopefully, we can educate them that doing it behind an I/O is dangerous.

We saw the same thing - except it was an outboard. Rider had no lifejacket and was doing deck starts - the last two are illegal in CA. We motored over and politely, I think, informed him about the danger of the prop hit and illegaility of the other two items. He basically told us to pound sand, but at least we tried to inform and educate. What chaps my hide more than anything is that it will be the actions of a YAHOO like this that will impact the rest of us that try and do the right thing as legislators grapple with protecting folks from themselves.
