Looking at this for my kids any input on it? I have a 8, 5 and not surfing by herself yet 2 year old!

I have never been around the gromcast. We use an older broadcast 5'4" for teaching new people. It is a great board for getting up and finding the spot. We have had it since 2009 or 2010 and it is beat to heck. It is finally taking on water. We perfer it for teaching over our IS Bluelake.
We just got a newer shaped broadcast but have not used it.
Good luck with the kiddos. They will have fun and be surfing machines in the blink of an eye.
If the gromcast is anything like the full size version it should work great. -
I just bought my 6yr old son a Phase 5 Scamp. It seems to be a great little board for kids and from what I read when I was searching was one of the better rated kid boards.Comment

Just bought my kids the Ronix super sonic space odyssey. They will surf this weekend so I'll let you know how they like it. We had been using a custom walker project that was 4'6" but it was hard for them to get up on.Comment

My kids are riding a Scamp as well. They are all pretty lightweight and have a hard time pointing the board straight. I'm going to try their 2" fins and see if that helps. They like that they can get up easily on it though.Comment

I don't have any info on the Gromcast either - sorry.
I will say, my kids use the Scamp as well. Its a great kids board - both my 7 yr(son) and 5 yr(daughter) can push it down and get up on their own with it. My son even started competing this year on it.

My kids absolutely love the Ronix super space odyssey. It was very easy for them to get up on and they could surf easily. They just started surfing about 2 weeks ago so they are not throwing the rope in yet but that will come very soon.Comment

We also have the Ronix, I do not have comparison to anything else, but my 10 yr old son does well with it.Comment
