    Quick shift wake shaper

Just ran across this on another thread. http://www.quickshiftwakesurfing.com...r?catid=790162
It looks like a mix between the delta and the "suck gates" Did mission not have any patents? This seems like a complete copy. The quality doesn't look quite the same compared to the mission but it includes a few extra features, including a cheaper price.

Edit: after doing a bit more digging on there website, all this is a pre made "suck gate". They even have pictures of one with the aluminum handle. I guess if you want a decently made one without the hassle, this could be worth it.

I made a suckgate for my 22V. Work well but I can get a better wake with listing the boat IMO.

Well that's a bummer. Was going to build one for my 22Ve. Have you tried listing it a little bit in combination with the gate?

There is a person in Canada selling a similar version as well. Mission does have patents pending, but it does not list where they are pending, so the Canadian may be alright. This unit is clearly in the US but it is adjustable so that change could actually be patent-able in itself. Sadly, it costs ALOT of money to take a patent issue to trial, assuming that a cease and desist letter does not stop them. Mission most likely would not spend the money beyond having a letter sent out. We have had to have a few cease and desist letters sent out on some patents we hold and it generally costs us between $5-10K just to have the firm we work with "verify" that it is indeed a justifiable infringement before sending the letter. I think alot of people will get by with knocking these off in the short term.
