New to wakesurfing on my 2005 Tige 22V. We have only tried a 400lb sac in port rear compartment and only our light 12 year old can drop the rope. We all share a 4'8" Hyperlite Broadcast board. I'm 162lbs and the wave is somewhat tall but short. Should i add weight in front? Is this board not long enough or bouyant enough? Right now I'd like to just be able to drop the rope and the wave just doesn't seem to have enough push or my talent is just not there yet. Any suggestions on set-up or board choice?

I have the same boat and surf 80% of the time.
First I would recommend building ghetto gate or suckgate. Or go buy one but they are pricy. I have a ghetto gate and with 400lbd in each corner you all will be able to ropeless. I now run a Enzo bag as full as I can get it (~1100lbs), 300lbs in walkway and my ghetto gate. All the ghetto gate does when I list the boat is clean up the lip of the wave and add a little extra to the pocket. My speed is 11.8 and taps at 4. That's with just a driver in boat. As you add more people you can cut weight or shift it. I try to keep the rub rail at or slightly above water line.
Next trip out I am going to try and add some starboard side weight.

I have not trimmed my platform...yet. My swim platform is definitely under water while while underway but my wave not that bad compared to when I don't have the ghetto gate on.
I won't be back to the boat till August but will see what I can find for pics or videos.

Thanks for all replies. I will definitely get another sack for up front or rear and play around with the position. I have ordered materials and a 'handle on demand' suction handle to make a wake shaper (mission boat Delta design). Anyone had any luck with that contraption? Concern the suction cups will actually stay on the boat.

650 lb bag in bow
750 lb bag in rear locker
Half full 750 lb bag trussed up with ropes on the seat in the Right rear corner of the cockpit. We were at 12.2 mph and I could barely go ropeless (managed about 40 seconds) the wave was decently tall but pocket definitely short.
How well does the Enzo sack fit? Especially on the starboard side? The area under the side seats seems to narrow considerably as you go forward and the space pinches down considerably after you get past the speakers mounted there. And incidentally, the rear of the speaker is not covered and all the wire connections are in the open. How does a ballast bag handle rubbing up against and putting pressure on the back of that speaker? I'm worried it will damage the speaker or get punctured on the wire terminals.

The enzo sac fit fairly good. With any bag you put in there, you would want to make sure anything that can puncture the bag is covered or protected. I cut all the bolts and put bolt caps on them. Re-enforcing the walls wouldn't hurt either, but I didn't do that on our 22v...
I'll try to remember to find a picture of the 22v wave - I definitely would not consider it to be short. Personally, I think 12.2 would be too fast - at least for what we had it set up for...

Since I already have two Fly High 750 lb bags I think I'm going to make a DIY suck gate and evenly weight the boat and see what happens. I have a mixture of standard and goofy riders and it sure would be nice to be able to switch sides quickly. If that turns out to be unsatisfactory I'll buy the Enzo sac.
I'll try to post my results.

This is the only one I could find real quick - in this pic there is a little spray from the platform (was slowing cutting it down), otherwise the wave was very clean!
