Mission Boat Gear Delta - Universal Surf Gate!

I ride a hyperlite shim, and my wife rides a broadcast. Love both boards, although I really want to try out some other boards.

Detonate: are you running a Vx on your boat? I can't tell but it looks like a 2014. One thing I like about these "suck gates" is they allow you to keep the Vx (unlike the tabs)

Anyone have any fuel usage to report? I an only assume usage increases.

2014 Z3, no VX stock Pro Ballast.
Both rear 100% full, front 50%
About 10.8 MPH and taps between 1-6 depending on the rider.

Not sure about the fuel. For sure I used a lot of fuel, but I'm not sure if it's the suck gate, or just that we surfed so damn much.

Things to keep in mind. I'm 6'5", 250 lbs and the wave was great for me. This was about 4pm in the afternoon, we got on the lake around 8:30am. I'm very sun burned, drunk, and acting the fool. Enjoy!
Do you mind sharing the dimensions of the delta? Thanks man

Sure. I'll have to go dig it out of the boat, but next time I'm out there I'll snap a few picks...

So I built a fakegate or suckgate out of starboard and the plastic $9.88 HOD from amazon. I have made a CAD model with templates for my gate. its set at 10 deg. A friend of mine also built this exact one and both of us tried it. Mine didn't stay on for more than a second at 10 MPH. I couldn't keep it on long enough to develop a wake. So I may try the metal HOD as well. Mine will slide along the boat if stuck down in water. Can you guys elaborate on the clay bar what what is the process there?

Here is a detailed explanation of what using a clay bar is all about.

I'm sure you can find it in the wax section of your local auto parts store.

I am going to build mine this week, but wondering what it will do stuck to a wrapped boat? Might have to find the spot where it puts out the best wave and cut through the wrap? Anyone tried it yet?

acropilotbret, Can you post those cad files in a pdf or jpg?

Looks great. Better then mine. Hope it sticks to your boat better then mine did.

Buy the metal one and it won't move, I've used mine 3 times, switched sides multiple times each day, works perfectly. And I did clay bar the area as well.

My metal one just arrived. Drilled holes and it adapted to my wake sharper in 10 min. Planning on testing it out tonight.

Has anyone tried sticking one of these or the Ronix wedges to the bottom of a Vx? I would assume it would function similar to a TAPS3 and less like a gate.

That is my evil scheme when I get my hands on one.
