Looking for a wakesurfer with a nose fin

Looking for a skimmer or hybrid board with a single rear fin and a single nose fin. I've found Ronix has a new one for 2016 but haven't seen much of anything else. I'm currently riding both
    A liquid force doum pro skim 58 and a hyperlite broadcast 54. I'm 200lbs and 6'3.

I thought the consensus was that the nose fin was essentially of no value? I read something somewhere....

If you can find it I'd love to read it! Also the byerly volt offers the nose fin. And it is by far the most affordable on amazon right now at $280 plus $20 shipping. I'm almost ready to just buy it to try it out.

On the subject of mass production boards--have owned a few and have surfed many. Also have watched 2 good friends "go thru the progression" of buying the compression molded stuff. They're cheap, yes. That cannot be argued! Sold all three I owned in the past year, and have discovered that the small batch handmade stuff performs so much better.

Example, the yellow Ronix you have pictured above was crowed and crowed about by a doctor friend of mine who rides behind a 23LSV. Best board ever, nose fin, etc etc etc. Then he rode a foam core sub-5lb skimmer from Lakewakes. Simple and inexpensive board, but it blew his mind. And they get better from there for really not that much more money.

However, it is a progression repeated many many times, so maybe you just go through it. Or, you take a bigger bite up front, and call a Nick Weirsema or something and get rocking from the start. Or grab a simple Bean from Lakewakes and have a wonderful universal board for all skill levels. Granted Lakewakes stirs up the pot a little on this forum, but I can't say his product has let me down. Very fun boards to ride.

I know, its a tough call. But man oh man, the smaller batch super-light boards will really up the ante on fun. They are SO fun. Grab a Ringer from Nick and you will have a blast for $600. Or something like that.

          Best of luck!

I own the 2012 version of the Ronix One Skimmer (green version) that is the same as that yellow board. I too went from a Broadcast as the beginner board and jumped right to this. I personally love it. Its fast, lively, but the center fin still bites and gives plenty of control. This board is actually constructed out of surf foam and not the typical compression molded foam. It does make it very fragile so handle with care to avoid dents and dings.

I bought a Ronix Parks Carbon Thruster this last summer and it is now by far my favorite board. With a 2 fin setup it is easy for spins yet adding the center fin will give you tons of control. I do think that the skimmer is actually a faster board than the thruster. Both are very fun.
