I have seen people mount them
Both ways. More often the way I have it mounted. I will try it the way you suggest first. The ones I have seen mounted this way we're on the TT forum.

johnnieMo that is a snowmobile that says may bail at any time. Fitting gift from a friend haha.

So your suggesting I mount like this?

Hmm I have seen it mounted both ways on the TT forum. I'll have to try like you are saying first. So I should mount it like this?

If you go to Mission Boat Gears instagram page they have a few examples of what it looks like on some Mastercraft DD's I believe.

Yes, I would start by pointing it with the slope away from the boat. In general I think you want the suction cups behind the gate. That should help them hold.

Did you paint that handle to match your boat? If so, high five!

I would still like to try the Mission device, I've heard nothing but good things.

My next door neighbor started the WakeFx company, I was skeptical at first about these sort of devices. I tried his 'sideho' (same concept as Mission, but adjustable to dial in) on my '99 21v last week and WOW was I amazed. Lengthened my wave by more than double, tons of push even way back in the pocket. Clean as can be. No more listing for me...! The boat drove incredibly well and I felt way more comfortable with it weighted evenly.

I am totally on board with these types of devices. When they first came out I wanted nothing to do with them. Gotta love the innovation!

Ok will go with it that way then, I am only a little concerned with how it will hold with the wrap. I am not apposed to cutting the area of wrap for the suction cups once we find out where it should be, but I would think the further back the better?

HAHA yeah I did paint it, I can never just leave things alone.

Ordered my Amazon suck gate package last night. I'm not a bandwagoner but I'm gonna have to have a go. I jokingly showed my wife that when you pull up the hod on Amazon the other parts pop up in the frequently bought together box. For $30 she said just order them. So I did.

We have a Mission Delta arriving to our door today. We had our new to us 22Ve out last weekend for just a couple of hours and the wave/pocket seemed really short to us (coming from a G23 last year). I went home and ordered the Mission Delta and thought I would give it a try since they have a 30 day $$ back guarantee...and they are from MN too.

From the feedback on here, I am sure that if I can get the time to work on and dial in the wave, we should get a great wave out of the 22Ve, but I figured why not try this too. I am hoping to get our GPS upgrade installed this weekend and our 1235 Prop is arriving today (the 537 was struggling to hold speed some with the 1100-1200 port side bag).

Based on the weekend plans, I am not sure we will get out, but I will report back when I do.

Nickypoo was smarter than me, I just ordered it and will see what happens when it arrives. Forgiveness over permission this time.

What was your weight set up for this? People and ballast?

Curious to see how you like it on your 22Ve. I made one that works but the wave is not near as good as just using bags and listing it, IMO.

I decided to give this DIY suc gate thing a try. Here are a few pics of the gate and the wave it was making with zero ballast and only 3 people. 2002 v21 rider. Heading back this weekend with more people and my sacs. image1.JPGimage2.JPGimage3.JPG

Welcome to the site. Nice first post!
I love the adjustability as well as the low storage profile when collapsed.
