Last year we played around with straps on a wakesurfboard. It was crude, but it allowed James more control of the board in the air. Things like an aerial 3 were possible. He was CLOSE to this backroll thingee. In insets allow footstraps to be attached - like the old sandle bindings on a wakeboard. I really think that if we migrate to some form of bindinging, we'll see all sorts of skate and snowboard tricks without a rope.

Yeah, real live backroll. It takes a massive wake so that you have enough height to rotate...so far, though, James has only landed a few, but when he hits, he's in the flats so the board just stops dead. I'll bet we start seeing someone actually pulling inverts before too long. Same shape as all of his boards, just the windsurfer footstrap inserts added.Buy my kid's board! http://www.flyboywakesurf.com

We prefer to think of it as a mini tow-in board. It's the same concept as a skurfer - directional with sandal bindings.
Mike's pricing is a bit "odd". He's really a surf shop and doesn't fabricate a complete package, like most of us are used to. Can you imagine Hyperlite giving you an option in the way their fins attach, or with or without EVA foam.
The basic finished board is $370. Then you have to buy fins - figure $45. Then you'll really want some form of traction. X-trak makes a great product, figure another $70. Then you have to get the whole thing shipped - figure a minimum of $100. So in total, that is: $585 to your door. It's comparable to a shred stixx or xtreme board company product. The BIG thing with Mike is that you can customize any and all aspects of the board. Graphics, fins, rails, rocker, length, width, number of layers of glass...the variations are endless and unless you really have a good feel for what you want and need, it's easy to get "crap". Mike is good about guidance, but he's still making what YOU order.
Now, with that out there, IMO there isn't a BETTER shaper/builder in the market at any price. If you know what you want, Mike will make it happen. He can work Poly U or EPS and the results are always perfect. He stands behind his work and is very innovative in his designs.Buy my kid's board! http://www.flyboywakesurf.com

The skurfer reference is from this weekend, I was staying at a very nice resort on Lake of the Ozarks. While lounging at the pool, a couple of guys came up with a Skurfer. It just reminded me of the roots of wakeboarding.
I sometimes ride a kneeboard surfstyle. Mostly just to prove it can be done!"I want to know God's thoughts, the rest are just details"

Well we got a chance to go out and ride the board for the first time yesterday. Here are a few pictures from that session. We didn't get many good pics of the grabs that James threw, but he was able to grab indy, method and tail. The nose was just a bit too far for him that first session. He also attempted to grab both rails simultaneously, but just couldn't manage it.Attached FilesBuy my kid's board! http://www.flyboywakesurf.com
