We arrived on Saturday to see the event, hangout with Drew Wolfe family, meet lots of new folks and catch all the fun. We stayed overnight to see finals on Sunday then podium awards. Some highlights:
Starting w pic #8, Ashley Kidd performs "superman" trick successfully for first time in competition in 2 different runs. Congrats and dazzling trick to see. then renamed "superwoman" then AK-47 (Ashley Kidd-47).
My son Jake got a sign from Pull Watersports and promptly collected rider signatures which was lots of fun for Jake and Dad since we got to meet all these cool folks we follow via internet. Pics from Jim Borton, Tim Walker and Carol Villeneuve.
The venue is fantastic because its made just for watersports on a private lake so conditions are generally topnotch because no other boats are around. The Masters Ski Tournament is held there with sizable crowds. Spectator attendance was sparse and hopefully improves next year. Callaway Gardens is wonderful place with all kinds of outdoor activities, FSU Circus and various gardens to visit.
There was lots of fun stuff on the beach including Stand-up paddleboard loaners, beach toys, a 2-story waterslide and vendor displays by Nautique, Pull Watersports, Allatoona Adventures/Phase 5, and others.
