I leave you guys alone for 4 hours and THIS is what happens!
Ok, well the BOATS that we have for the series are an '05 and '06 Nautique 210. Throws a better starboard/right side wake. It's easy to see when you motor out without ballast, the right side is clean the port/left side is washy.
The boat has the "wedge" tanks which add an extra 65 pounds of water ballast. Needless to say, the Nautique are NOT throwing monster wakes, even in the best conditions.
We placed about 400 pounds of lead in the nose, filled the center and either port or starboard tanks. Then another 200 pounds of lead in the rear compartments. That was all the adjustments to the boat. THEN added about 750 pounds of people, the heaviest person in the rear corner seats, moving forward heaviest to lightest.
Nick you were correct, the shallow water setup was very sensitive to weight in the bow. With no weight up front the wake was not clean, adding the 400 or so in the bow, cleaned it up.
Speed settings were between 9.0 and 9.8 with 9.3 to 9.5 being the best settings.
No one will walk away from this saying: Best wake ever! But, it does open up venues where there are wakeboarding contests in man mad lakes.
So to recap, some weight in the bow, an even amount of weight in the rear and then as much weight as possible to help the boat list.Buy my kid's board! http://www.flyboywakesurf.com
