    Need help with z3 wake

Little disapointed in my z3 surf wake. What are you guys running for weight?

I have the pro ballast option and VX. Wake is very similar to a malibu as it is very mellow and does not ramp up. Wake is long but has no push and is soft.

I tried an additional ~1000 lbs with the 6 people in the boat and it helped but wake was still smaller than my wake on the 24v at 1 for taps.

Wakeboard wake was killer with the stock pro ballast option. Just need to get the wake surf killer. If anyone has any suggestions to save me some time in trials and errors? Took me 3 years to find what works best in the 24v and it is absolutely killer. No doubt this one has the potential to be the same.

Fill surf side rear full and off side rear 30 to 40% full.Fill surf side front full and off side front 25 to 30% full. Set taps at 4 and try 11 to 11.5 mph. That should be a good starting point.More taps and slower speed = steeper taller wake. Less taps and more speed = longer more mellow wake.
I do all my own stunt work. hey ya'll watch dis.

Fill ALL bags except the opposite surf side. Try run about 20% in the off side but same speed and taps as Robert Said. I ALWAYS have fronts full. When I put the 1200 bag on port side I run the stock starboard bag 80% full.

Thanks will try that. Lots of playing to do yet. I did not try both fronts full. Did run about 40% in drivers side.

Normally run 10.8 mph taps at 7 on the 24v with 1100 up front, 2200 in back locker, 600 in opposite locker, 400 on the corner seat and 400 underneath. The wall was crisp clean and tall and could surf three back. Just need to get this one the same.

I'm having the same trouble with the wake on my 13 Z3. I'm going to pull the VX off the back and try it tomorrow. My boat is set up the same as yours and the wake behind my 12 RZ2 with surf ballast was better. Is anyone else having trouble with the VX???

There are allot of people having problems with the VX and getting push out of the wave. I believe Tige is looking into this problem. You need ALLOT of weight to get push out of the VX.

I dont have the VX on my Z3, But I was having the same issue not getting any push at all! I have the Pro ballast. What I did to get a lot better push and still have that long peak wave. I filled up the surf side internal sack all the way and non surf side to 50% on both front and rear. I also have a too 400 lbs sacks. I put one under the seat on the left side and put the ohter 400 lbs sack on top, This gave me much more push and a much better wave. I upgraded from a Z1 and was very disappointed in the wave at first. But it was because on my Z1 I only had to fill up my surf side and an extra 400lb sack on the surf side. Now that i have a bigger and taller boat they say you have to fill up the non surf side as well. This was my wave this past weekend.

loudelectronics I assume by now you have seen Ragboys post about the new brackets for the convex vx. I was very disappointed and upset with my 2013 Z3 with pro ballast when I tried surfing behind mine too. My dealer contacted me yesterday about the different angled brackets for the cvx. I thought that there was no way it was that hard to get even a little push out of the wave. Such a relief that there was a issue beyond me and easy enough.

Yes, it will be a huge difference when you get the right setup/brackets. Night and day.

Yes I have taken the VX off and have dialed in the wake now and it is great. The VX has been off since first week in June while they send me the brackets.

I have been aware of the bracket issue for quite sometime but did not want to spread the issue virally over the Internet. Tige is making good on this and did not want to spread bad press for them while they make there push to break into the big three. Just what we need is brand bashers with actual ammo.

Currently happy with the wake as it is on par with the 24V which I was never disappointed in. Can't wait to try it with correct VX and the right prop.

Glad we got a guy like ragboy to help validate our concerns. Not sure when he started working on this. I know I expressed my concern after the first ride and my dealer in Sask had been pushing Tige for a fix as soon as he tried it. Glad Tige listened.

We have been working on it for some time but it was the first week of June when we got the boat with the production VX for the West Coast Open where everything, and the emails I was getting all made sense. From that point it was just working out what to do, how to do it, and how to roll it out. I can't wait for everyone to get the right one.

So, if we were to order a convex vx today would it be the correct version?
