I know it's not the time most think about getting out on a new board but I am. It keeps me sane in this cold wet weather in the NW.
Beginner-intermediate (180lb ish) rider I guess as we have only been surfing for a season now on a beginner Liquid Force Fish. I have ~1900lbs in my 20V & fill 1/2 of it on one side most of the time to get what I would say a medium wake (so technical - I'm not sure how someone would know the size - isn't size all realitive?) I think we have it pretty dialed in but it's someting that you never stop tinkering with.
The Fish is what it is. A beginner board to learn on in my VERY megar opinion. It's great for that. Very stable, long, & I would guess slow but have no comparison.
It's time for something different. I think my next step is to get a "hybrid" surf/skim type board (how about calling it a skirf...na sounds weird) that I have heard about. I want to start getting better off the wake and attempting more tricks. Knowing that I don't, and won't, have the opportunity to demo anything now or in the near future, it seems there are almost too many opinions and options out there. It's like trying to buy...well...anything for my wife. I have heard Phase 5 has some good boards that could fit. I have also read threads from Alann Kendall and Surfdad that are very technical and have great information but I still won't be able to take their advice and demo.
I know you guys can help out. Thanks.
