OMG, sell your boat to put in landscaping that will require all of your formerly-on-the-boat time to maintain the yard???

HA! Nope, I have a service that will do that for 62 clams a week!

But I may need the extra cash.....the front yard and grass was 75k plus the irrigation system...which was 12k. The back yard patio is 25k alone....so I could be tempted to cash out for now. Id buy another once the funds recoup!

who cares why he is selling Its his choice. I had a 2010 Corvette ZR1 that I sold and bought my boat, everyone thought it was stupid....Glad every second I drive my boat that I sold that car. Amazing car but priorities change.

I'm just sayin....it's not for sale, but it could be!

The only reason I have the RZ2 is because I snuck it in after we closed on the new house! I sold my Malibu to have cash in case I had 2 mortgages....well I sold the old house right before we moved in to the new one. So I told the boss, she sure as heck wasn't using the boat cash for a bunch of foo foo things and furniture!

Bought it at the boat show, then got the landscape bids......ouch!

All I can say is I never thought that landscaping was soooooo pricey. Although, I do have paver sidewalks.

Do it yourself, in the offseason. That's what we did. Saved a huge amount of money. Most of landscaping is labor.

Learn! There's never been a time in history when so much information was so readily available.

Example: Until a couple of years ago I had never laid a single tile in my life. Now my wife and I put down hundreds of square feet of limestone, with a full embedded electrical heating system, and there's not an "expert" in sight. She cuts the tile on the tile saw, I lay the tiles. I'm sure an "expert" would do it faster but they won't do it better - and we're saving thousands and thousands of dollars.

Example: My cedar shake roof was 20 years old last Spring and needed replacing. I've never done any roofing in my life. I read a lot, talked to a few people, rousted up a couple of friends, rented a boom lift, and went to work. We replaced the entire roof with dimensional shingles including stripping the old material, repapering, new vents, new valleys, everything.

Ditto for ballast systems, sheetrock, heating and air conditioning, plumbing, all sorts of engine maintenance, the list is endless. Landscaping is labor intensive but not difficult. The few unusual tools can be rented, and Bobcats are really fun to operate.

I have a Z1 and luv the surf wake. Took some fine tuning, but its great. Kids are able to surf with only one fat sac in rear compartment! Also plenty of space. Lots of compartments to place fat sacs.
