    Building a surf wake with a R20

I am new to wakeboarding and wakesurfing and I just bought a 2012 R20 with the 303hp and 900lbs of ballast. I would like to know what I should add to create the best surf wake for a beginner. We went out last weekend with two 235lbs guys and two 140lbs girls and it did seem like we were getting a wake that we could suf without the rope. One of girls did alot better surfing and her wave looked better with me sitting in the back. I was running full bow, full aft port and 2mins of aft starboard ballast with taps at 2 and speed 10.2-10.8. Also I would like to add whatever I need to add by Labor Day weekend. Oh and my only board is a Hyperlite Broadcast 5'4", should also get a longboard.

    Thanks Zach

Welcome to the site and congrats on your boat. Post some pics.

Here is a good reference. http://www.tigeowners.com/forum/show...hlight=ballast

The broadcast is a good starting point.

        How can I build a wake like that in a 2008 20V

Great wakes. Son was out yesterday wake surfing for the first time. Wake was not as crisp and long like these. We just got the boat and it has 4 hard tanks - two on each side in the rear and two on either side of the passage to the bow. Nothing in the bow compartments. We set up with both port side tanks full. Nothing in the starboard side. It was my son, a buddy and my wife driving. They had the taps at 3 going 10.1 mph. When I joined them we set the taps to 7-8 and 10.8 mph. Had a nice pocket - wave was not as long as we would like. Had trouble with the cruise control at this speed. the wake was washy most of the time. A few times it was nice as the speed of the boat fluctuated.

Not sure how much these hard tanks hold yet or if I should bigger soft tanks to the rear and bow.

        Any ideas
