Finally back to this build! We've done all the shaping and filled in any of the dents with spackle, the next step is to appli any graphics you want on the foam itself. This is a PolyUrethane foam blank, so we can use spray paint direct from a rattle can on teh foam. Do NOT try that with an EPS foam blank, it will destroy your work.

Alternatively, if you have air brush skills, a water based paint like Tempera can be used. There are any number of different styles of applying the paint...spraying, brush, roller, stencils, squirting out of a sports bottle...really it's only limited by your imagination. I am NOT an artist and as I stated earlier, the graphic would probably turn out to be something only a mother would love!

I used several colors of rattle can and then various widths of masking tape, to make that. This is also on the bottom of the board. We typically cover the deck side with traction, so it almost seems like a waste to do anything on the deck side, unless you plan around your traction.

If you don't have spray painting equipment, or you are using an EPS blank, you can still apply graphics to the foam or in the lamination. There are premade laminates, here is a link to one, super expensive in some cases. Those go UNDER the exterior fiberglass.

I'll also show a fairly common method referred to as a resin swirl, which uses a tint to color the resin. A swirl uses 2 or more different colors to cover the laminate in an "artful" way.
