    Air Induction

I had to share this set of pictures. It's for the ocean, but what the shaper is calling an air induction board. The are two holes through the board at an angle, so water doesn't just blow through the deck. Then the theory goes that the water flow UNDER the board pulls air through the deck and the board into the flow.

    Is that wild looking?

LOL! Really. In theory, it's supposed to give more grip. The holes create a vacuum and shear off the boundary layer on the bottom. I've never ridden one, so I'm interested to see what the feedback is on one.

I'll probably wait on your review before I start drilling out my boards

Now that is neat. I'm very interested to see some more info on that. There's lots of work that could be done with that basic theory. I'm struggling to see where the holes on the bottom are. I would assume they exit aft of the holes on top? Are there any other pics?

The induction boards I have seen have the thru hole canted forward and they taper, so the hole on the bottom is much smaller in diameter than the hole on the deck. I'd be the holes on the bottom are in the glasses somewhere. I am going to be making a trip down to Streche's shop in the next week so I'll try and get a closer look at that board if it's still there.

Ya, I was looking for them in the glasses but, I just can't see them. See if he'll let you get some close-ups of the holes.

Wow, that's nuts! Never seen anything like it.
