    Surfing a Flyboy Wakesurf board

We are doing this fun contest on the flyboy site and shot this video as a segment for that contest. I thought I'd share it with you folks. This is James' wakesurf board from last year being paddled in to some really weak surf down in Santa Cruz. I just thought it was a hoot.

That's cool! You can tell it's not quite big enough for that size of wave...which is weird because the it's bigger than the one behind the boat.

Yeah it was sort of a longboard type day. Height, by itself, only equates to potential energy by virtue of gravity. Not much lift in those waves, they were moving pretty slooooooow that day.

It does offer some interesting insight into how our wakesurf wakes work.

I was wondering if I would be able to surf my IS Blue Lake in the ocean, I thought it might be just a bit small, but I think its doable now.

            Hmm...

That's awesome. The board is so small. Is it a Stretch?

Good point on the potential energy of the wave shape.
You'll get your chance, smart guy.

@ Ewok, if you can paddle it in, I'm sure you can ride it. Probably not the optimum shape for surfing in the ocean, but it'd be a blast trying.

@ Nickypoo - yeah that's the board that James rode all last year, the 'boo and carbon.
