Nicest board I have seen yet Surfdad

I'm kind of confused though. Doesn't James still ride for Inland?, and is riding boards made by Stretch

Not only the best looking wakesurfboard but one of the best "surfboards" I have ever seen. I want one.

Thanks guys, it's a really unique look.

@ Majestic, we do lots of development. The vast majority of "new" stuff I do in the shop, but I don't have acess to some of the resins, vacuum equipment and general tooling that Stretch does. Plus, they are a gazillion times better at laminating

I do all the intitial development and when we find one that works, I take that down to Stretch and they build me a production level product. The problem with that is much of the design work we are doing retails for like $3,000 a board. It's crazy. So if I leave Stretch's logo on I get a price break.

Inland doesn't have a shaper on staff, they use the Cobra factory to build for them, which is in Thailand. They could do development, but it would be months of lag time.

So, yes, James rides for Inland and routinely rides the Inland Flyboy, James and I do all the intial R&D work and we have Stretch do the final R&D production.

Prior to Inland doing the production of Flyboy, we had all of the original Flyboy production done by Eric Roush of Roush Custom Creations. I'd still be using him except he went MIA with a few grand of my cash.

That production arrangement is pretty common in the surf industry, that's why there are so many labels! Most laminators are independent and contract with various shops. So a shaper will use a CNC machine to cut the blank, he finish sands it and then the laminators do all the lamination and sanding at their shop.

                Thanks for the interest!

Wow! That's all I got cuz I'm speechless at the detail work on that board! Just my personal preference but I like the top more and would have made the bottom the same. It's seriously the best looking wakesurfer I have ever seen! Carbon fiber AND wood!?!?!?!? Come on! The only way it could possibly be better is with some brushed aluminum in there somehow! LOL!

I really like the top. The bottom is ok. I really like the pinstripe next to the carbon fiber though. That looks awesome. Does Stretch the veneer work himself? It's crazy delicate and difficult to try and get all those together like that.
You'll get your chance, smart guy.

Thanks guys. The arrangement of the veneers actually has a function...well I think they do, we'll see. Anyway, it limits some of the pretty that can be done. There is a cabinet shop in the industrial complex next door to Stretch's shop, so me thinks there may have been a little subcontracting involved

Could very well be. It takes a lot of woodworking skill to pull something like that off. I don't think I would want to do it.
